Re: New Hobie PA 12/14 and drive at ICAST

Sorry dude, Mirage drive can traverse shallower water in any direction. Some of those prop drives are very noisy, so not good for the specific fishos. The Mirage drive is much more quiet. The new 360 drive will also lift it's fins to stop damage to the fin masts if it hits a snag or two, props won't...

New Hobie PA 12/14 and drive at ICAST

$4700 US for the 14.
By the time it gets over here it will probably $6700 or so.
A very cool piece of engineering though.

Re: Boyne Tannum Hookup Report

Great report Ads22 "GOLD", some nice fish there. It's been such a long time I have been up at that neck of the woods, maybe I should come up again and have an estuary revival @CQ.

Cheers mate, BobbyB.

Compleat Angler Canberra Grand Opening

Hi guys, as you know Wetspot Water Sports has closed and now the shop has been re-opened as Compleat Angler Canberra (and Hobie Dealer). So I told a few of you I was retiring, well, I'm not very good at that and I will be the Hobie doctor on site. We have an extensive range of products, from fly fis...

Re: transducer mount silicon in hull vs arm mount

Liquid Insulation Tape is worth a look. You can buy it from BCF and JCAR . I use in conjunction with duel core heat shrink for joins. It is what I have used for years............no problems to date and I have installed "A LOT" of sounders (it's my job). With Battery terminal protection I would use L...

Re: New Reel, Different Tac

Well........ my reel is back and I'm so looking forward to using it. The free spool works like a champion, and the rod perhaps may be a bit too small (I didn't want to go too heavy). I do have a reel that will match it though. To test it out may be problematic as the "work thing" has come up again. ...

Re: New Reel, Different Tac

I got the reel back today. The problem was a damaged lever drag component. All good now. Thanks to Pure Fishing, Bruce Baddeley from Ray and Annes Tackle in Pennington, South Australia , and Nick from Tackle World Canberra. Set drag, tie FG, Uni, and get into it. Pix tomorrow. Time for some dinner n...

Re: New Reel, Different Tac

Well, being retired "again", I finally have some time for pottering around. I'm doing all that stuff which you have been putting off, lawn reseeding, veggie gardening, painting, guttering cleaning, and the like. As you may know Wetspot Water Sports (Canberra) has closed. I have been approached to do...

Re: New Reel, Different Tac

Thanks Dennis, to tell you the truth, I'm a bit over it. No good worrying about something that hasn't happened yet. I will deal with that when the time comes. But, I got my new rod today..... and guess what, it isn't broken which is a bit of an upturn from the last purchase (sorry am I being sarcast...

Re: New Reel, Different Tac

Picked up the reel this morning (and being a trusting soul) bought it home. Throw the reel on a rod, set the drag and all is good. Pull the lever to freespool and the drag is still on strike. Nothing has been fixed. So back to Tackle World and had to pay $15 to get it freighted up to Pure fishing. J...

Re: New Reel, Different Tac

Good news, the reel is fixed and I'll pick it up tomorrow. There couldn't have been too much wrong, the rep fixed it.
Cool, now for the rod.
