Re: Echuca, Dubbo, Coffs Harbour - January 2019

Hi Adam, Weather here has improved this week with the strong Northerly easing up. Blew pretty solid here over the Holidays. Saturday morning is looking pretty good. I will be having a fish offshore at Arrawarra on Saturday at first light. With the Northerly wind the water here has cooled off a lot s...

Re: First blood on the Duo

Great stuff boys, well done.
I came home with zip. There was bait around and i had a live slimy out but no hits.
Did have a visit from a 6 to 7 ft hammer that sat off my rear for about 45 mins.
Water temp 22.7
Boaty i chatted to at the ramp had good haul of snapper.

Re: Coffs Harbour December.

Hi Richard,
Arra is generally a very easy launch.
It is protected from a southerly swell and only gets rough in a Easterly. Looking at the forecast I expect it will be fine.
Your other option with pretty much zero surf would be to launch at the Jetty in Coffs.

Re: Coffs Harbour December.

Hi Richard,

If the forecast holds I will probably have a fish off Arrawarra this Saturday morning at first light.

Re: Magnetic Transducer Mounts / Non-Lowrance Sounders

Got to love the internet - seek & you shall find. BerleyPro (Melbourne based company) sell a custom cover plate to fit non-lowrance transducer sounders to Hobies. https://www.berleypro.com/product-category/hobie/ Also sell visors for the Raymarine 7 which look handy. Youtube also has a number of mod...

Re: Magnetic Transducer Mounts

Thanks Chris, I think my revo rudder will be in the way. Also considering modifying the Hobie Lowrance ready panel on the underside of the Revo to fit the longer transducer. Popped the cover off last night & it will go very close to fitting. Need to get my hands on a transducer to check. Cheers Steve

Re: Magnetic Transducer Mounts

Thanks Marty, Ram Mounts have a reasonable option as well. Hesitant about hanging a transducer outside the yak but I suppose it is connected via the cabling so not much chance of thinks disappearing into the blue. Keen to get some feedback from anyone that uses the magnetic option offshore. Hope to ...

Magnetic Transducer Mounts / Hobie non-Lowrance Sounders

Looking at upgrading to a Raymarine 7 sounder. The transducer on these units are about 200mm long. To internally mount i will be sacrificing a bit of space in the mid or front hatch. Have been looking at the magnetic transducer mounts. Does any one use these off shore? Are they stable with wave acti...

Re: 1770

Looks like they had fun but the fishing was a bit tough, but the water looked great.
Not sure about the skiffs when it comes to landing fish - long handle net might be the way to go.

Re: 1770

Thanks Funchy,
Looks like a great place with plenty of options.
Dont fancy a 10 mile trip - bit old for that. Will look to troll some dead baits and see how we do.

Re: 1770

Thanks Ads, Would be good to catch up - I enjoy your reports. We will be in site A21 from 16th. Confident I will get a couple of goes offshore if the wind behaves. Hoping to spend a day on Monduran as well, but will probably hire a tinny - I hear she is a pretty big waterway. I have a barra cherry I...
