Re: Kart for Hobie Tandem Island

No one on here has any ideas ... ho-hum.

Looks like KFDU is dead for me now. A TI obviously puts me in the minority now. I think it's time to migrate over to the FB pages for me.

Thanks anyway.

Kart for Hobie Tandem Island

Hi all I am lucky enough to own a TI and absolutely love the big beast of a thing. Only issue I have is that I am stuck to only boat ramp or vehicle access launch spots. I've seen the Hobie TI Kart ... but at $750 before I consider paying for freight (ouch) ... it's quite scary even thinking about i...

Re: Need advise before buying

Hey there I would like to buy a kayak and was thinking of an old town predator 2nd hand. I want to take my 6yr old son with me but not sure if the predator offers enough space. Looking online, I discovered the native watercraft titan which seems to host a nice spacious back space but I cannot find ...

Re: Lucinda-Townsville 29/10-2/11

I've heard of people catching good fish off the jetty ... from sitting on the Jetty.

I wouldn't hover around there on a yak though, as there is a very frequent snapping handbag that is pictured there quite often.

Re: Lorne Reef Today

I would absolutely be keen on that! Especially in company, as going solo would scare the berley out of me!!! I had better get in to looking at any lures and setups that may be able to deal with a mack then eh. I was recently gifted a whole heap of lures from a mate who has relocated to Perth ... he ...

Re: Lorne Reef Today

Sounds like a spectacular trip!!

I'd be keen to experience something like this, in company of course ... no way I'd have the brass ones to do it on my own!!

But, I am most definitely keen!

What do you use for lighting and visibility on the water at that time of the morning?

Re: unwelcome visitor.

While I haven't had the pleasure of an interaction with a Great White ... I know several blokes who have. I've had meetings with Tiger Sharks before though. If you're fishing in the blue ... always have buddies ... once you see a shark, get close together ... wind gear in etc. Don't offer anything t...

Re: Upcoming Paddle Sun 12/8

Hey whisky Eventhough I know how good the nose guard is on the Duo ... I'd be very careful with stones flicking up under a glass yak. Have you got some sort of shade cloth or something to prevent stones flicking up? You could even use the lockracks on the trailer to make it faster again :) Other tha...

Re: Tide (Current) directions between Pallarenda and Maggie

Thanks NorthSIKer :) Exactly what I thought. I can't say I've ever really worried too much about it, but when you're paddling against an outgoing tide that at it's lowest was going to be .15 ... it was absolutely noticeable heading across the front and then down to middle reef and across. Keeping an...

Tide (Current) directions between Pallarenda and Maggie Is.

Hey all Has anyone got absolute information on the direction of current during tidal changes in the area between Palleranda and Maggie Island? I was out two weeks ago, in the big tides and headed to the Strand for breakfast. Upon heading back, it was an outgoing tide. We headed direct from the Stran...

Re: Hobie Tandem Island with trailer

I cannot believe it's not sold yet!! Wow.

A TI at that price, it's easier to find a chook with teeth. Hope it goes soon for you. I'd buy it myself at that price, but alas, I already have a TI.

Good luck.

Re: Upcoming Paddle Sun 12/8

LODO, I have the same issue with my kids. They are CRAZY animal lovers (more than me, and I work with animals every day!), which is great most of the time. I get them out fishing still, purely from the interest of experiencing how cool the fish are, the different shapes, colours, sizes, and so on. ...

Re: Upcoming Paddle Sun 12/8

So my trip has just changed ... AGAIN. Looks like no fishing for me, but I will be on the water. My young bloke (8yo) has decided he wants to get up early and come out with me. Only down side is he doesn't like the thought of killing animals :) So ... first hurdle is get him addicted to being on the...

Re: Upcoming Paddle Sun 12/8

Yeah, I've seen the wind forecast ... I'm more than happy to kick in to pedal drive for a change. It's actually better for trolling a lure anyway ... I only ever use the Sail on return legs, or getting from point to point. Other than that, I truly prefer to pedal and control exactly where I want to ...
