Re: Braid options

BCF will have the gliss. It is cheaper than the fireline. I am a BCF store manager and it is ranged at every store as far as I can see.

Re: Braid options

The thinnest i have found is varivas super PEtrout special. My 14 lb is an 8 strand about as thick as 2Lb mono. It is expensive at over 50c a metre. The thinnest locally available is a hybrid line by WTF called Gliss. The biggest trouble when going ultra thin with a baitcaster is if you are using a ...

Re: Offshore or inshore flares

In qld there isn’t a requirement for offshore flares for boats as inshore are deemed adequate due to our EPIRB laws. In a kayak I have to agree that a PLB is your best investment. The latest ones have a search radius of 3m. They are also getting cheaper which is nice

Re: New reel advice

Hi Mate and welcome to the site,

I haven't used one but i have heard lots of good things about the Komodo's. Okuma has now changed importers into Australia with Tackle Tactics taking over so i really do expect to see a big marketing push on the Okuma gear.

Murwillumbah sun 3/09/17

Hi team,

I am thinking of heading down to near murbah from brissie tomorrow for an early morning bass session, my first for the new season. Probably hitting the oxley around 6am if anyone is keen to come should be some solid surface action.

Paddle thru the Leeds then turn left. Follow the contour line that runs from the last leed to the hyber light. Lots of squid and snapper there at the moment

Re: Fish Finder Decisions

Hi mate, you wont go wrong with either unit. The garmin is certainly faster and a slightly more powerful unit especially in the dsi. The maps are built into the unit so that is also one less thing to go wrong. I am not a fan of the menu system in the garmins. All you need for either unit is a simple...

Re: Woody Head Shark Bay Trip

I last fished there 9 months ago. I used 4" zman curl tails in baby bass colour, matched with 1/6th and 1/4th jig heads. Very slow rolling them is the go. I got a cracker of a cobia on a white 5" damiki armour shad and a big jew also on the white ones.
