Hobie advertising banner

R1-Bemm-River (2).jpg Hi Folks, I was down in Mallacoota in late February/March and I was fishing off the public jetty when I caught a HOBIE advertising teardrop flag. I at first thought it was a Hobie sail & mast but after an epic battle, I found it to be a HOBIE advertising banner as I've seen in...

Re: Port Hacking men in grey coats

Don,t worry about sharks in Port Hacking, you've got a bigger risk on the drive to the launch site! :lek:

Fishing in the colder months

Hi all, This year I've decided to bite the bullet & get out in the colder months. I've got some good clothing and found a couple of launch spots where I won't get my feet wet. BUT I've only ever been a warm weather i.e. summer months, fisher. I live in Sydney and will probably be fishing the Georges...

Hobie Outback front hatch bucket

I was shown the other day a cheap $5.50 drop in front hatch bucket to go in outbacks. Its a soft bucket with two handles made of fairly soft material. Drop it into the front hatch, trace around the edge with a felt pen tke it out and trim with a razor knife! Bingo, $5.50 instead of $70 They are avai...

Re: About to buy an outback - advice?

Most important is a safety flag. Get one from your local bike shop and take the fitting off the bottom. Go to Bunnings and buy some PVC plastic pressure pipe. (you can buy it in 1 metre lengths) the same diameter as the rear rod holders. Cut a couple of lengths that will keep your reels up away from...

Georges River (Como) Morning Fish

Its been a while since I've had a fish in my "new" (Thanks Michelle) 2015 Hobie Outback. It was a still morning this morning and the tide was right, so I launched at the Rowing Club at Como. The ramp and wharf are being renovated at present. They should be fantastic when finished. I had to launch to...

Re: Hacking murky?

The Hacking doesn't get murky because there is no stuff to make silt like other waterways.
One side National Park & the other side already established housing etc. unlike the Georges which I just saw and is BROWN.

Desperate Day Fishing in Forster

Hi all, I had to travel to Forster for a couple of days on business. The weather was woeful but Sunday was the best of a bad few days. Windy & raining on & off. I set out on Sunday morning, guided by a pair of dolphins. Every time I got my phone out to take a photo, they would duck off to the left o...

Let's show we care

Hi all, I'm not a regular poster on KFDU although I regularly look at the site. I've just returned from two weeks at Forster (Arpie's home turf) and was dismayed at the amount of rubbish I found in the waterway. I fished Oyster Bay (Sydney) My home turf and all I saw along the shoreline was rubbish,...

Kayak Music

I recently had great couple of weeks in Arpie's turf and had a ball. Bought a new Outback from Michelle in Port Stephens and caught plenty of fish. My wife would get angry at me because I did not take my phone & she could not contact me. I was worried that my phone might get wet if I tried to answer...
