Re: Live shrimp breeding IBC with DIY trickle filter

sooooo, the toga turned into an a$$hole as soon as he got 1mm bigger than the bass and was constantly pestering them to the point I had to get rid of them for there own good. Fast forward a year or so and the toga was pushing near 60cm long, developed suicidal tendencies and busted through 4mm glass...

plastic kayak alternative to a stealth ?

I know there’s no plastic yak that’s going to match a stealth profisha, and as much as I’d like a stealth, I’ve gotta think practically. The amount of times I’ve already knocked, bashed and beached my plastic 5.1 ocean kayak, mostly when loading and unloading, that I’ve only had for a few months, if...

Palm beach reef rigs?

New to offshore, have a tld25 on a beastmaster trolling rod, bought it loaded with 30lb mono. What rigs, lb leaders etc should I try using for trolling for pelagics? Any advice welcome. Tried joining the palm beach yak crew FB page, but I don’t know anyone, just trying to get as much info on what to...

Re: This kayak anygood for Goldcoast offshore Palmy?

More than likely , you’ll do what you want to do and largely ignore any advice that doesn’t confirm what your thinking anyway , it’s what I’ve Done and pretty much most of the guys I’ve seen on this forum have done over the years learning lessons through experience is the only real path we can ever...

Re: This kayak anygood for Goldcoast offshore Palmy?

Yep I had 3 sprinters. And yes I’ve done palmy in it. I lay rods down horizontally for launch and return but of course expect them to get wet so a filled them with grease. Rod tips under paddle holder bungee. Like stealth styles. And butt velcroed to Hull near water btl holder. If I redid it I woul...

Re: This kayak anygood for Goldcoast offshore Palmy?

Be aware with skinny yaks like that being able to actually access forward and rear hatches on the water may be too much of a balancing act, especially in bumpy .........agree that’s why I suggested a couple of straps to ensure hatch lids don’t get lifted by the force of waves breaking over bow if i...

Re: Watersnake T18 Electric outboards

I've just ordered a T24 Watersnake and I bought a speed controller from ebay. The speed controller must be on a slow boat from China as it's due for delivery on 31st of July. I want to have the speed controller next to me remotely wired to the outboard. I hope this is not too big of a problem but w...

Re: This kayak anygood for Goldcoast offshore Palmy?

I was going to use specific kayak hatches on the raised moulded oval sections. I have 2x areas that are 240x420 in size, so hopefully get everything inside the hull, if not, I’ll check out those rod bags, cheers mate
