Re: GPS apps on phones

The HEMA app is more designed for bushwalking or driving in remote areas but the mapping/tracking function works well and it can be viewed online and sent off to a third party. It uses a range of maps including the HEMA ones, can have waypoints and places of interest pinned by the user as well as pi...

Re: Family camping advice Canberra and Albury

When you are in Canberra the War Memorial is probably the best thing to see, you could spend a day there easily. At the rear of the War Memorial is Mount Ainslie, if you go to the top of it you get the best photo in Canberra as the dome of the War Memorial, ANZAC Parade, the lake, the front of the o...

Re: Family camping advice Canberra and Albury

In Canberra you will not really find any camping close to the water. Depending on which way you are coming into Canberra you may be better off thinking about Burrinjuck to the west between Gundagai and Yass, or to the east up the Snowies at Eucumbene. Snowies there are lots of opportunities for camp...

Do you folks carry two way radios when fishing, and if so are they UHF or VHF?

Re: Found a bargain? Post it here.

It's a con.

It's registered out of an IP registry in China, the registrar URL is http://www.dns.com.cn. The details are here http://oakkshop.com.2compete.org/ so probably a con as Oakley is US based and have their own website. http://au.oakley.com/en/

Re: Do any Canberra residents have any advice for a beginner

If you go to Googong you will love it but take a life vest as the Rangers there do check if you have them. Its a lovely spot though.

Also use the northern entry at the boat ramp as its an easy launch. You can go south but its a long drag from the carpark to the water.

Railblaza bits at BCF

I have just gotten some railblaza bits from BCF online. Very cheap compared to normal stores. I had waited to post until they arrived so I could confirm that the prices weren't too good to be true. 10.00 cupholder with starport mount http://www.bcf.com.au/online-store/products/Railblaza-Drink-Holder...

Re: Occupations Of KFDU Yakkers

Same as most other people in Canberra, another bloody public servant! Specifically I could be classed as a minion/henchman.

I do shiftwork so it's handy for doing other stuff but that suffers due to too many hours OT, hence the need to fish more.

PA14. Sitting on the fence and requesting a push.

I've been on the forum for a while but haven't really posted and am looking for advice. Currently on an OK Scrambler XT that is reasonably well rigged for fishing and enjoy it greatly but am looking at upgrading to a PA14. Yes, its a considerable leap. To make it easier for comments I'll say I proba...

Re: XMAS Party - Danjera - Dec 11th to 13th

Not sure if I need to be a member of the SHKF or not but I wouldn't mind attending from the evening of the Friday. Just need to sort out some camping gear.

Is this the campsite you are using? http://www.campee.com/au/nsw/campground ... /site19405
