First Seahorse

I was fishing from the shore at Moonee Beach when a seahorse drifted near me but I thought it was just a piece of seaweed until it did a U-turn and came back at me for a second look. I watched it for at least 3 or 4 minutes which resulted in my soft plastic getting snagged but I had seen my first se...

Re: My first big bass

Agree with the others, a silicon net is best as not only does it not hurt the fish they just seem to slide around in in smoothly until get a safe grip. As Dodge said above 35cm is best and I usually let under 40 go unless late in the session. Resist the addiction as it can become an all consuming pa...

Re: Bream are still around ..... just scarce in Sept

That's really amazing how the twin hooks broke off. Hope the next time out my GG's, crackajacs and gtsco work as well as your did. My last saltwater outing was a PB for fish caught on lures. So here's hoping. Loved your report. :egrin:

Re: Hinze Dam ...winter into spring

Yeah Dodge has it right, what a great place to have a fish and paddle or pedal. This is a real fun morning with some fishing, talking, joking and morning tea. If you're around give any of us a pm to find out when we're heading out. Les

Re: First Fishfinder - First questions

I've got a Lowrance 5Ti with the transducer side mounted on the port?(right) side of my Pedalcraft 10 and have never had any problems with my propeller or paddle affecting my images. A couple of weeks ago I pedalled and paddle over huge images of fish without and vision interruptions. Les

Gday Roberta if you're still having trouble grinding your pepper go out and buy an electric s n p grinder. We had one and it worked really well until it was dropped one too many times. Les :egrin:

Great report mate. Thanks for having your knife handy to cut my anchor rope. That was one BIG bream and watch you back pedal let me know you had something big on. That loader bucket will someday make a nice reef. Les

Tingalpa Creek Friday the 13th

Well Friday the 13th wasn't scary but nice until the wind blew up. Went out to Tingalpa Creek with Wongus and Adrian with all of us scoring a feed. Danny was the king with 2 flatties near or in excess of 60cm plus 3 bream. Whilst drifting I had a very large flatty approach my yak then veer off. My l...

Tingalpa Creek on Sun 24th June

I went out for my first salt water outting since March and met with some interesting events. Tried my new Crackajack lure and think I had a strike but not sure as just after it became snagged on baby mangrove sprouts. I paddled in to get it back and discovered that owner hooks are VERY sharp. One of...

You look like the southern winter was making you uncomfortable. Nice blue lips on that bream. Hopefully when my wife gets out of hospital I can get out for a bream fish. Les
