Re: Just moved to Cleveland QLD - Anyone keen for a yak fishing session?

Gday Bryce, there are quite a few who fish your new home area. Keep an eye out on the estuary fishing site and reply or pm the guys and some of them might invite you out with them. I've just moved to the Gold Coast and there's a group of us, retired blokes, who go bass fishing on Hinze dam most week...

Re: New Reel, Different Tac

 My old man had 2 of them that he would put on the charter boat rods when he went out on the Gulf of Mexico to catch snapper. Mum reckoned he did that because the reels they had were cheap fakes. She also said he fed all the neighbours because they used the rods and reels which either jammed ...

Re: Monster catfish - Bundy

Wow that's huge. When we lived on the Rio Grande in SE Texas when you went to a fish fry at the clubs on the river we used to pay $12 each for popcorn fish, which was an endless basket that was refilled until told to stop, the fish was catfish and tasted nice especially the more beers you had. Hee h...

Re: Anchor Rope Holder

I've used an anchor quite often and as Dodge says about being able to get it to release when snagged is important. I had to get a mate, Wongus, come and cut my anchor rope as I was caught with the current crosswise and working quite hard to stay upright. I lost 5m of rope and a very good collapsible...

Re: Spam

I'll go in and talk to the guys at Freak Sports on Monday and let them know that on Kfdu spamming is unwanted. I've done a lot of business with them and have found them very helpful and not the least pushy with their products. Les

Great photos of all of the fish, now to get rid of those horrible carp. When I first saw it I thought " oh god not those bloody goldfish." Les

Looks like a meal of fresh fish is the order of the day. It appears that it was a great day out on the water. Hope you enjoy the meal as much as the fishing. Les

Love your reference to Dr Seuss and green eggs etc! Glad to hear you had a great time on Lota flats. You didn't mention the time of day or tide level, which could be interesting to those of us who like fishing there. Again congrats on an excellent catch. Les

Re: Time for a Hobie

Great idea Paulioq to use a second set of wheels and push rather than pull, which can be very hard on the back. Ta mate, Les  oh ya well done Brenda anytime both hands are free either for fishing or fending off branches etc. Loved my hobie and now my Pedalcraft.
