New yak recommendations

#1 Post by austin0204 » Thu Jul 12, 2018 8:02 am

Hello All
In the next year or so i intend to upgrade from my current kayak (a tandem sit on top i paddle on my own that is affectionately known as the barge) to something i can use to start heading offshore. Everything i have seen points me towards the Stealth Profisha 525 its meant to be quick stable and that centre hatch that rods can fit in looks like a great idea. However i want to explore all of my options.

Can anyone recommend kayaks that i can use in Moreton bay and south east Queensland in general that are relatively fast.
Thanks everyone

Just go the stealth. If you buy something else you'd just end up buying the stealth eventually

Stealth really is THE option for pure offshore, but if you're going to fish around rocky shallows, estuaries, rivers, it might be worth going for a plastic yak like the viking reload as they can take a real beating.

But the stealths are just so good at what they do that it might be worth getting one for offshore and a second plastic yak for everything else.
