For me kayak fishing is all about having fun, enjoying the outdoors, catching fish, learning and using skills, being at one with nature and spending time with friends and/ or family. And being relaxed, friendly and stress free. I believe KFDU is all of these and that is why I'm here and not elsewhere.

I don't understand why some people get so aggressive on the internet, getting stressed out is what work is for, your hobby should be your chance to relax!

Exactly.

Not all of us. But most. But agree here.

Well done to the moderators for keeping it so.

Firstly a big thank you to the mods for all the work as a lobour of love
I know the feeling as I look after the IT issues at my work along with doing my own work.
This IT work is unpaid and some of the time unrewarding work.

This is and should remain a forum where posts should be positive and constructive.
If you don't agree with the post, let it go. Don't reply, it will die a natural death as it slides down the slippery dip of time.

Attacking people simply for sharing is a great way to push them away from any forum, as opposed to learning from constructive criticism which I believe we all can and should learn from.

Why not have an automatic disqualification period?
This would for sure pull peoples heads in.
How about offend with malice and cop a weeks detention. Do it again get a month. Three times and well we will leave that to the Mods.

I hope I haven't offended anyone with my thoughts, but I and most of you have at one point or another had that feeling in our stomach as we read some reply posts and think to ourselves, "That's nasty, how long before this gets deleted?"

If I have offended, I guess I'll see you all in a weeks time :beye:

I would like to thank the mods for a friendly well run forum.

when I first got involved with yak fishing I joined a couple of forums but it didn't take long for this to be the one I went to all the time because I found it friendly and helpful. The mods do a great job and should be thanked by members for the effort they put in on our behalf.

First off, thank you MODS for keeping this place in a good shape. And thanks to the people who support and contribute to the wonderful community.

As someone mentioned earlier, why delete thread? Once its locked, no one else can add to it. However, people can have a read through of the debates and get to know intelligent people from silly people. I know that I have read through some of them and found well researched responses amongst some nupties nonesense. I think that the majority of us can ignore the silly stuff and appreciate the well though out resposnes. Its a shame to loose those, and from memory, I lost a few post counts...could have been at 500.

From other forums, people get kicked off from just one infraction. Unfortunately, they are like an itch that a cream cannot cure and always come back.

Firstly - to the mods whose job is a thankless one ---- BIG THANKS for ceeping this site as slanderfree as possible .
I find I am too thick skinned / old and wise to become involved in any cyber bs I rather go fishing and do the right thing by nature on the water
AND SO SHOULD EVERY OTHER MEMBER OF THIS FORUM .

TA
(and thanks again for ceeping this a Kayak fishing forum )

I take my hat off to all Moderators past and present, it's a difficult undertaking with a site that is fast approaching 11,000 activations. The Team simply can't please everyone, but they do give 100% to the sport and the greater membership. Thanks Brad for throwing this up.

G'day all, I just want to share something that I've known for a while but has really been revealed in the last 24hrs.
KFDU has been exposed for what it is..

It's simple, it's a bloody great place for people that love kayak fishing, whether they be young or old, just getting into it, maybe leaving it, maybe wanting to sell something or be trying to find a bargain, maybe getting caught out smiling at the computer while at work but for most it's a place for sharing experiences and knowledge of fishing.

Sometimes being an open forum we're exposed to things we don't like/agree with, it's a simple fact.

Congrats to the Mods.. it is a pleasure to have discovered this forum and I thank you all.
All the best, Rob..:bye:

you go Brad. :glad: Thanks Mods . That is the only thing I dislike about forums is when cowboys come in and make you feel like crap because they don't like something you are doing and letting you know in no uncertain terms. Lucky this does not happen a lot but when it does you just want to quit. GGGRRRRR to the "Keyboard Cowboys"

i've been following this topic on here and on aus bass
what i have noticed is that unlike aus bass people here
have the sense to realise that opinions are just that opinions
not actual facts that some that have to be shoved down peoples throats
if the the thread starter had any real knowledge he would know that
bass are in a far stronger position than the last 20 years
numbers are increasing steadily and there is more than enough for everyone
