KFDU Social Fishing Competition 2017-2018 Rules

Postby Leper » Thu Jul 06, 2017 9:03 am

Oh folks I have hopefully come up with a plan for a social competition that is easy for all. For those that have fished the SFC events the format is very similar with a few basic changes that I have highlighted in bold in the General Rules. Basically you just need to carry your YUFN (Yearly Unique Fishing Number) with you on every fishing trip and only use it on upgrades during the year, how easy! Simply send all entries to me via PM before the finish date next year.

Species: Bream, Flathead, Bass, Snapper, more TBA
Date: 2017-2018 (finishes 31st July)
MUFN: 741

Leaderboard

General Rules

1. Competitors can fish the entire month of the event.
2. No Applications required.

3. Event must be fished from a kayak or canoe.
4. Yearly Unique fishing number (YUFN) issued for the entire year and common number for ALL competitors
5. Event is artificial lures or flies only (Strictly no bait)

Measuring fish

1. Full length is to be measured
2. Fish are to be measured on a rigid measuring device or brag mat resting on flat surface and a photo taken of the complete fish clearly indicating the length.
3. Length to be measured in mm
4. Two best fish to be submitted for entry. However upgrades are limitless during the month and only limited by the number of times you fish. This means you can submit photo entries continuously for upgrading.

Photos

1. Photos must be taken with clear evidence of kayak in the background.
2. Photos MUST Be of LIVE fish.
3. Photos must clearly display the Unique Fishing Number (UFN) or the fish will be disqualified!
4. Submit photos via PM preferably

Example

P1010327.JPG

Scoring (K.I.S.S method)

.
1. The length (mm) of the two best fish will be added together

Eg. 365 + 432 = 797mm

2. Results and rankings will be continuously upgraded.

Bragging and stirring

1. May commence 2 days after the posting of rankings to allow the tears to stop flowing!! :snic: :snic: :snic:

Master Angler Scoring

1. Scoring will be the tally of all lengths in all species completions
2. Entries into multiple competitions will provide an advantage to anglers vying for the Master Angler Title.

Lol "MUFN" still is funny when you read it literally! Yes the scoreboard will be open and continually updated so no need to keep the photos hidden. At the end I might get everyone to do a brief recap of where the fish were caught, technique, tide etc etc and re-post the photos of their two final entries.

It's Friday night and I'd imagine a few people are heading out tomorrow! Don't forget your MUFN and if you catch any bream throw it on your brag board and take a photo. Send it to me and get your name on the leader board. First person to submit photos is #1............. at least for a little while! :wink: This months MUFN is;

I assume I can't claim one caught on Sunday with my SFC UFN then.

We had better keep it and even playing field Ads, and that way everyone has the same fishing opportunity!
