Trial Exemption for electric motors on Kayaks VIC

#1 Post by MACCA10 » Mon Oct 02, 2017 9:54 pm

Transport Safety Victoria had a proposal to allow low powered electric motors on Kayaks etc which are currently banned in VIC unless you register the craft, carry normal boating safety gear and have a recreational boating license.
See transportsafety.vic.gov.au/__.../Low-powered-electric-paddlecraft-trial-exemption-co... This proposal was posted for comment by interested parties and was closing in April 2017. It sounded like a very good proposal to bring us in line with other states
Question is has anybody heard any update or has it just gone into the government adminisphere?

Go news for Vic Yak owners and interstate visitors?

In SA we are limited to 33.7 Lbs of thrust but OK with 34. Your (VIC) proposal is 40Lbs.
