Trial Exemption for electric motors on Kayaks VIC

Postby MACCA10 » Mon Oct 02, 2017 9:54 pm

Transport Safety Victoria had a proposal to allow low powered electric motors on Kayaks etc which are currently banned in VIC unless you register the craft, carry normal boating safety gear and have a recreational boating license.
See transportsafety.vic.gov.au/__.../Low-powered-electric-paddlecraft-trial-exemption-co... This proposal was posted for comment by interested parties and was closing in April 2017. It sounded like a very good proposal to bring us in line with other states
Question is has anybody heard any update or has it just gone into the government adminisphere?
