Fishing vest BCF

Postby andybear » Fri Oct 13, 2017 11:56 am

Hi all,
Just happened to get e brochure from BCF and it seems to be starring a kayak fishing vest. At first glance, it looks somewhat like a PFD. I much doubt, that a PFD could be worn at the same time as this vest, as handy and nice as all the pouches make it look. Perhaps a backwards step in promoting kayak safety. I could be wrong.....just saying

Cheers all andybear

The kato vest is designed to fit over a pfd. But i prefer a single vest/pfd solution.

The vest is pretty good for wading though.

Just got the same email from BCF now. As a fly fisherman it's not all that different to my SIMMS fly fishing vest????

I was given one of these, and have seen them go pretty cheaply at times. I use mine from time to time, depending on where I'm going and which yak. Fits over my pfd quite well, or I wear my inflatable over the top of it. I would prefer a pfd incorporating a vest, especially for offshore.

Hi Andy, long time no see. I have an MTI Calcutta vest which has handy pockets and good flotation. Very practical and comfortable for the Yak.

Cheers,

Good to see!

All happy campers then, I retract my doubt about the vest. Aging eyes make it look like a no go.....but I am wrong.

Cheers everybody.....andybear hoping to go fishing soon!
