Coffs H

So who's been offshore recently? How did you go?

Coffs H

Been a while since my last post. did not have much time for fishing and when I did have the time mother nature said NOPE.

This weekend looked perfect. Cooler weather had me getting up a little bit later
Sat: launched from Diggers. Paul had other commitments and could only launch in the arvo. The weather was perfect. Glass out
Perfect glass out.jpg

I stopped for a slimey and my sinking dead bait got hit but reefed me. Got my rig back it looked like it was a good snapper judging by the teeth marks in the sinker on the dead bait rig.
I found a few slimeys. All my slimeys got hit but sadly it was only the Donal Trump of the tuna world. Mactuna :blah: :blah: :blah: I gave the mactuna to a boatie for bait

Maccauleys got quiet so I headed wide for nothing
NE pushed me back to shore

Sunday:
Paul launched early but again the weight of the duna was to much
I finally launched around 9am. Met up with Paul at Maccauleys who supplied me with a few slimeys.
Again my slimeys turned into Trump tuna. :blah:

Paul managed a good spotty right in front of the boaties.

\The kids at the beach were super excited and off course wanted to poke it in the eye.

Thanks for the paddle. Things look promising for the Coffs Comp.

Cheers

Some nice pics and great looking conditions to be on the water. Not a fan of Trump sushimi?

My LF tuna was lost after several failed tail grab attempts while Tommie scored a large Mack tuna .

What is it with that? :)

Driving kids home:
Daughter: "Did you go kayaking today Daddy?"
Me: "Yes"
Daughter: "Did you catch any fish?"
Me: "Yep, I got some squid and small trevally"
Daughter: "Yay! Can I poke their eyes and play with the tentacles?"

And she is the real princess variety little girl

Also, i have had it suggested to me that their is about a 15% yield of ok meat in a Mac Tuna if you are desperate - haven't tried it myself.

Tag on for my fish on Saturday the 20th
Fishing is good but pelagics are thin on the ground due to water temp drop.
Saturdays list : (all without using sounder :idiot: )
6x Snapper
Multiple Bonito
Large Tailor
Kingfish
Mack tuna
2x Sharks
One unstoppable bus ( I believe was large Tuna )
Lots of spiky red stuff
