Trip to Wooli
Since selling the farm the camper and Ute has been up-graded.
The fishing was hard but plenty of small trevally to keep you interested. On the Thursday it was a great day and fish popper most of the morning got 3 trevally and gust as the tide turned the popper was hit by a 43cm Tailor and it put up a good fight a new PB. Back near van so went in for coffee came out yes a whiting second cast 35cm another PB got a flathead in the same spot later. As the tide was full trying to get a Bream to hit the popper over the oyster racks yes not a big one but my first of the racks. Ended up with 8 fish for that day all on the popper. On the last day the tide had a bit of the going out so decide to go with it down to the mouth there was a great sand bar down there and got a few nice flathead and the Ray’s where working it hard.
So in general had a great time and would go back in a blink. It is a quiet town with not many shops has a bowling club and pub bait shop. Grafton is the close big town.
So had never been to Wooli so a 5 day trip to get use to it was organised. The weather played its roll but had a few great days to go fishing and with a spot so close to the water it was easy to just go fishing come in for morning tea and go fishing YES. Re: Trip to Wooli
Great report Dave. Lovely place Wooli. Camped there many years back and loved the place. That’s a great tailor, I hope some of those will be appearing on the beaches soon up here. Regards Bill
