Cabbage Tree Point 02/08/2018

#1 Post by blanchy » Sun Aug 05, 2018 5:11 pm

After having not being out for what seemed liked months, decided to go out on Friday Morning, arranged to meet a mate at the ramp at 0800, he eventually arrived at 0830  ... so I mucked around with my lures etc while waiting, I discovered the hooks on the double clutch are very sharp, had blood everywhere and just from a little knick on my finger, anyway it was like glass

I went to a sandbar that has produced for me before while my mate went into the deeper channel, didn't start too well for me, dropped 2 fish in 2 casts, heard my mate yahooing so decided to investigate, he found a school of squire, we caught 4, biggest around the 39cm

then we went and did some exploring, found a creek, so paddling down with a Zman Ezshrimp in gold out the back and this little fella decided he liked it

off this little creek we found a little offshoot, wouldn't have been much wider than the length of my paddle, decided to go and investigate, had an Ecogear ZX40 in Coral Shrimp out the back, the little off shoot only goes for a 600m, so wasn't real hopeful...well what a surprise when this girl inhaled my ZX40

all fish released after a quick snap

we headed back to the ramp around 1330, I had enough, so left the young'un to keep on going, oh to be in my 20's again

Good work, I haven't fished there for years. Might have to try it again, all I used to catch were catfish and bream so I gave up on it.
