Inkers in the mist

#1 Post by flattyakker » Tue Jan 08, 2019 12:32 pm

I was eyeing off yesterday arvo with calm conditions for a bit of squidding in Botany Bay. With the weather a bit grey, not many boaties about  Launched the yak in misty rain and a light southerly and prospected for an hour before I found some.

Got 7 nice inkers over the next two hours and conditions were perfect.

Had a 60+ flatty follow up a jig that was being retrieved to remove weed  A couple of double hookups in the mix too!

nice work I love squid fishing, my favorite. tubes for my tum, yum yum and squid heads for snapper and whiting bait. I have caught fish on my jigs befor little bream mostly false hooked and got a meter long hair tail once he wasn't hooked. he just didn't let go till I get him out of the water in the net.

The trick is leave all your other gear at home and keep looking until you find a patch......great bait too:)
