Silver hunt before the rain-botany bay

#1 Post by westie » Wed Jan 09, 2019 9:36 am

Took advantage of the annual leave & headed out to botany searching for flathead & hoping for a jewfish.
after looking at a few photos of the jews being caught lately I headed out on the hunt yesterday with Colin whos always keen for a fish.
unfortunately, we had to battle the wind fighting the current testing our patience a bit.
King tides made the fishing tough until things slowed down & we both found a few flathead .
Colin was having some luck on a few nice bream so I left him at it & headed to fish structure hoping for a jew.
After dropping 2 during the day I managed to keep the hooks in a 74cm fish to finish the day before the rain set in.

thanks, Rob. Mate, to be honest, I don't fish tom ugly enough, I recon it would hold good fish.
Have caught the odd jew there before . & I'm sure it doesn't get flogged as much as cc bridge either.

Cheers
