Thora Trip Bellingen River

#1 Post by Mackayak » Sat Feb 10, 2018 8:17 pm

Well it was an on and off trip but with the water dropping it was on at the last minuet a trip to Thora on the Bellingen River was on. It was good to catch up with the Boy’s and thank Wall for the uki lesson hope things go well.
We arrived and set up camp a trip was decide on, when Dennis and I arrived at the place we where putting in I was not sure but of we went. A few rapines down and I hooked myself a good start thanks to Dennis I was soon not the biggest catch. It was not long after this and I was on to my first Bellingen Bass About 34cm. What a great place to forget about everything.
The next day we put in at the camp sit and fished down stream to where we had 2 cares parked. On the water 6.00am of at 2.00pm I got 3 bass all on spinnerbait 2 about 37cm and one about 34cm long day but some great scenery. Wall had some troubles but that is his story.
The next day we put in at Bellingen got 2 small Bass 1 on surface and the other on a trusty spinnerbait. Finally, it was time to pack up the only thing left to look at photos of the trip and pack up this is the 2 last photos.
It was great to catch up with the boys and have a fish a few drinks and cards and see some great country.
Thanks all looking forward to our next trip. :glad:

Looks a lovely place and the photos are great. Glad you caught a few fish. I bought a uke after being inspired by Wal at Glen Lyon Dam but could never quite master it so haven’t picked it up for some time. Regards Bill

That's a great part of the world. Thanks for the report. I had an old PB bass come from that river, also on a spinnerbait.

Great photos Dave, the fishing may have been a little quite but when you can get a couple each session it is all worthwhile, thanks for the trip it is always a pleasure to spend time with you guys, and look forward to the next trip.

I must get off my a$$ & get up there. I moved from Sydney to Macksville a few months ago & now that we're settled will get out amoungst the local fish. Where is that camping spot, if you don't mind telling?
