A couple recent freshwater sessions - Cod & Bass

#1 Post by Pollycraft » Sun Dec 31, 2017 11:52 am

I thought I would post a short report of a few recent freshwater sessions chasing Cod and Bass. I haven't posted in a while since I have been doing a few more landbased fishing adventures recently. The native species on the east and west of the divide have been keeping me busy, mostly exploring new areas of rivers. Some of the new areas weren't very good but we still managed a couple of fish.

The cicadas around the North Coast region are deafening at the moment, my head was left ringing after a couple of low light sessions. With all the cicadas around the Bass were keen to smash the surface lures within moments of landing.

No monsters were caught but there were a few decent specimens in the high 30s which were great fun. I was smoked a couple times by some very decent fish which will have me coming back again.

The majority of my recent Cod trips have been land-based, exploring the rugged gorge areas. I did manage to get out with Ben to explore a new section of the river but sadly it was very shallow and lacking decent structure.

I only managed one Cod for the session, a very chunky 76cm off the surface.

I have been working on some new videos lately which is very exciting. Some big plans over summer to create some great short films so stay tuned.
