Big Turtle

#1 Post by mickyt » Sun Aug 27, 2017 10:06 pm

Hooked up a big Turtle today ,got towed for ages could only take in line as it came up to breath , got it as close as I could but was immense so I eventually cut the line . It took a Pilchard Bait and just 10 minutes before caught a good size Grunter at the same spot with the same Bait ! As an aside I used to lose decent Fish because of my Knots but since I have been using this version of the figure of eight Knot ( there are two) have never had one come undone or break even with that Shark . If your having trouble with your Knots give these a go you wont regret it .The Knot link is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DzekQMqSsl4 The other knot for joining your leader which is as good is the Nail Knot done with the Tiefast Knot tool, you can pick one for about $3.50 on ebay link is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=611JWRtkjOc

I've often wondered if the turtles in lake mac would ever make a mistake and take a lure.
Happy to report that they haven't to date, though there are plenty around.

That is one big turtle!

Cheers,
PF

An unusual bycatch, fingers crossed it can get rid of the hook.
