My first Southern Saratoga

Postby hunsta » Sun Jan 07, 2018 12:39 pm

Not much of a record breaking fish. But broke a record drought for me. Been trying to crack the freshwater fishing for a couple of years now. With Saratoga on the hit list. Got this 350mm fella at the weir on the Mary river. Hooked it solid through the top lip with a white 1/8oz Booyah spinner bait. Was right near the bank and I hauled it up off the yak as I was scared I`d lose it. Was safely released. had a couple more hits then someone turned the fish switch off and that was that.

Thanks guys.
Yeah sure does feel good had been using 1/4oz spinners and found the 1/8oz a bit light to cast at first. In the last week I think I overdoesed on Saratoga vids on Youtube
