Huge Flathead

This big old Girl, smashed my Rio Prawn at the entrance to Manning River at Old Bar about a year ago.
When I saw she was a huge Flathead,my thoughts immediately flashed back to another one like her
I hooked some months prior ,but sadly after a short struggle, that one just up & died on me.
So,trying to nurse this one to the shallows for a quick release,I soon learned she had other ideas, and
the battle was on.It went for longer than I had hoped, so I was dreading a repeat of the last time
I had a fish this size on,but finaly I swam her up onto the Sand.Laying my rod flat on the sand,
I grabbed my phone, clicked two photos & wrestled her back into the shallows.Much to my great surprise
after swirling her in the water, she gave an almighty kick,& took off at speed into deeper water.
My Rod measures 7.1 Feet long, and running the tape over my Rod,and allowing for the bend in her head
I measured her at 110-113 Cms.Best thing about the whole day was,we both lived to fight another day.

That thing's as wide as it is long!! Must have been a few too many real prawns going past before your artificial one.

That is one hell of a flathead.
I thought I was the only one still using rio prawns. One of the all time best flatty lures.
