Original Thought was Abalone but NO....

Postby Vanz » Tue Oct 08, 2013 7:14 pm

G'day All,

So to start sorry i dont have a picture i wish i did but i will try and give as much details as possible, I whent out for a bit of a flick this morning to try out some of my new Zman's ( Worked Great successfull day ) and on the way back to shore i was going through an extremely shallow patch ( no deeper than a foot ) and i saw what i originally thought was an abalone but i knew it wouldnt be as though the ground was just sand and small patches of weed no rocks, so i stoped and as i whent to have a closer look it shoot out a bright purple ink, :beye: it was probably around 20cm in diamater, looked exactly like an abalone on tope besides two small cuts that where approximatly 5 mm long each that sprayed out the ink, once i had a closer look on the bottom it looked exactly like a rock there was no soft part or anything just looked like a rock all over besides the cuts and ink, o and it was solid not soft and squishy.

Look guy's and girl's i wish i could provide a photo but i just didnt get a chance as though my phone died but hopefully someone can help, ive been fishing a while but never seen this before might be common thing but yeah i just thought it was a bit strange with the purple ink. Anyway thanks in advance,

P.S dont know if it helps but i was in the Newcastle Area more accuratley Blacksmiths Airport

Either a Sea Slug or a Sea Hare.
Or just an Abalone with a leaky pen

The ink was the right colour that's for sure, but the shape was different it looked exactly like an Ab, Might have to go out again for another yak and see if i can find it again to take a photo, Thanks for the investigation though mate cheers
