unknown little aggressor

#1 Post by penguin » Wed Apr 20, 2016 1:54 pm

Caught this little bugger popping for whiting on the weekend on the mid north coast, got him on a 70mm sugapen, there were lots of them following the lure and hitting, this little one grabbed the lure at my feet. No idea what it is so seeking help to identify.

Fresh is best, but I don't mind some salt every now and then!

For the fresh: Mailbu Sierra 10 & Koastal Pacer
For the Salt: Hobie Revo - 11

thanks for that Rocket, he was grunting while on the hook so crescent grunter is appropriate.

i know its a bit late on this one, but we use to catch them and use them as live bait for jewie in newcastle..we knew them as trumpeter or 3 stripe trumpeter and they matched the noise as well....Dave...
