Hello from Castle Hill, NSW

#1 Post by Mr Squiggle » Wed Feb 15, 2017 8:03 pm

Hello all,

I thought I would drop by and introduce myself.

My name is Anthony, I live in north western Sydney. I have an interest in fishing, and owned a wave ski for almost 30 years. One day I decided it might be a good idea to combine both activities, and a new hobby was born.

I own a Perception Swing. I love the old girl......she is a bit like me; she is getting a bit long in the tooth, but still performs well enough to get the job done. I also have a OK Prowler13 which I share with my 15 year old son. He is a National level swimmer and kayaking is a good cross training activity and a good way for us to stay close.

I love the Hawkesbury, and often hop in either at Berowra Waters and paddle downstream for an hour and then fish back, or maybe hop in at Mooney Mooney and try my luck. I do also like a fish at Lake Macquarie or Forster. Christmas breaks mean the south coast.

I am a rugby union fan, and once performed very ordinarily on the paddock. My oldest bloke still plays Subbies footie, which keeps me involved.

I also like to go for the occasional run on my Honda road bike, but only trips away. Commuting is too dangerous for me.

I am an enthusiastic all grain home brewer, and can't think of much more fun than to share just a few beers with my mates and / or my oldest son. Life is too short to go without good company and beer (I have never heard a good story start with somebody eating a salad).

Oh, and finally, I haven't mentioned catching fish is essential for my enjoyment. The serenity and the water is my essential ingredient, a fish or maybe 2 would be an gratefully accepted bonus.

All the best, Anthony

Hello Anthony, I live in Glenorie and often fish the same areas you mentioned in my PA12. I am 50 & have plenty of time now the kids are grown. Happy to catch up for a fish, & I have been known to drink beer just to be polite  . Rgds Wayne

Welcome to KFDU, Anthony! Great introduction!!

Keep an eye open for any of the 'club' gatherings - most get together once a month somewhere - even occasionally having a 'social weekend' away, here in Forster!

Feel free to join any of them!! If you ever travel, you can contact members & get out with them on their home waters too! All good fun

cheers

Hey Mr Squiggle,

I'm over in Baulkham Hills. Not getting out as much as I would like but being a shift worker, get the odd day off mid-week.

I'm also doing a bit of all-grain brewing too. I'm doing some small batch BIAB (10 litres a batch).

My son is not old enough to partake as yet though.

Welcome aboard.
Regards, Adam.

If any of you gentlemen in NW Sydney are interested in a fishing trip to Berowra or similar location let me know. I have a bit of free time during the week for mid week adventures. Rgds Wayne
