Hidden danger prawn

Postby Freewily » Sat Dec 09, 2017 9:42 am

Whiting on fly is still on my bucket list. They definitely have keen eye sight on what their prey look like.
So I wanted to make a prawn fly without showing too much of the hook or any of it at all.
Checking images on the internet didn't show too many like what I wanted.
So After doodling around on a piece of paper at work. Haaa! just shows how focused I am at work.
I drew up a fly that needed a bend back hook to hide the barb or most of it.
Hoping it will swim barb up.
It's only my first go at this one & only tied 2 of them so should improve on it with practice.

Geee Roberta. I would love to. The first time I laid my eyes on Forster about 35 years ago, I thought Wow! I would love to go fishing here. :lek:
I really should make the effort.
2017 hasn't been a very good year regarding family illnesses but happy to see things are on the improve.
Hoping 2018 will be the year.
Fishing has always been my passion & never thought there was anyone with a fishing passion like you.
Many thanks for the success of my top water fishing.
Hoping to see you soon.

Freewilly have a look at the whiting flies on Brett Clark's site BWC Flies. It may give you some ideas .
