New species for me

Postby justforfun » Sun May 15, 2016 9:02 pm

I had a trip to Townsville to see my son for his Birthday a couple of weeks ago and he told me to bring my fly rod as he had organised a fishing session for me at a friends private dam and this was the result 5 fish after an hour and a half numerous hits and a few pulled hooks the largest was around 60cm long .cheers Justforfun

Thanks Roberta It was fun especially when they warmed up to the third fly
Thanks ads22 they all stripped line on the first run but the rod is a 9wt and it controlled them well and with keeping the rod low it seemed to stop them from jumping although I had a few pull the fly .five fish another 3 pulled the fly, one bust off and another dozen or so hits in crystal clear water. cheers Justforfun

Thanks Umrik . yes they put a nice bend in the Epic but it tired them up pretty Quick it is pretty powerful down low I love fishing with it, just don't get to use it enough with work being pretty hectic for most of this year that's why I haven't been on here.cheers Justforfun
