Natural soaps for river use.

Postby BrendanH » Wed Nov 09, 2016 5:42 pm

Strange topic but...

I have noticed that most campsites here don't have ablution facilities.

I still want to bath in the river with soap that won't kill all the micro-fauna and fishfry downsteam.

Any recommendations for glycerine or other natural soaps that won't harm nature? And where can I find them.

Most marine shops will have aqualather. It's biodegradable.

No matter what you use, all soaps contain oils that take time for bacteria to break down. The recommendation is to wash well away from water so the bacteria can do their job before the oils get into the water.
