Kayak camping trips QLD coast. Where can I park my van??

#1 Post by kayakity-yak » Sat Aug 25, 2018 5:11 pm

Gday,

I'm doing a big drive down the QLD coast and want to explore some of the islands by yak for up to a week at a time. Sort of looking between Bowen and Rockhampton.

I'm wondering if anyones done a similar thing and have some bright ideas of where you can park your van in relative security which won't cost an arm and a leg?

Van parks can be ok, but still a little on the exy side at this time of year.

I'm sure there must be people who wouldn't mind having a van parked in their yard for 10 bucks a day or something, but I don't know how you could find anyone.

Or maybe there are local kayaking clubs which offer something?

Just looking for ideas.
