What's WRONG with this picture ??

#1 Post by Plakkyboat » Sun Nov 22, 2015 9:23 pm

Last Wednesday night a Qld Fisheries inspector addressed a sizable audience at a local BCF club night

He said that kayakers should wear life jackets even though it was not a law in Queensland that they had to do so.

Then he handed out free copies of the latest 2015-2016 Qld Recreational Boating & Fishing Guide.

Turning to page 78, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this photo (below).

Talk about promoting mixed messages ! :?:

No way Roberta.

I didn't want to draw his attention to me in particular. He might seek me out later as pay back. :beye:

That makes as much sense as this fun fact - In 1985, a man drowned at a pool party attended by 100 lifeguards. The party was in celebration of the first summer without a drowning at the New Orleans municipal pool.

True story,

Was on a short term posting 1992 down Canberra - Defence Force Helicopter Training School.

Decided to wander into Canberra to look around on my weekend, and in my travels I somehow found a police newsletter magazine.

Had one of those strange but true stories on one of the pages, which goes an unidentified man was found floating face down Lake Burley Griffin
News reporters were harassing the police for the story to which they refused, finally the police get the approval to release media details
Police told a reporter the unidentified person found face down in the water was Asian and the name found in the wallet some something along the lines "Flo Ting"
News media stopped the camera and walked away disgusted.
Police were actually telling the truth, the guys name was Mr Flo Ting (something like that).
My memory is a little rusty but do remember the article mentioning the strange but true factor and how after finally being harrased by the media, the police give approval for the media release only to find the Media didn't believe them.
Thought the story was funny.
Asian man who drown has been identified as "Mr Flo Ting" (was actually his name)
