I bought a pfd with lots of pockets off eBay about 6 yrs ago. It was handy but now all the zips has siezed and a few holes in some pockets. It looks like the kato pfd for bcf. Next one I buy would have plastic zip to help stop siezing. But 6 years isn’t bad for a cheapie. Salt water kills a lot of gear. I was just gonna buy a fishing vest and wear it over my pdf if I was in calm waters or just land based but I’m barely do inshore work any more.

Brodie you could also consider another option like a couple of blokes I fish with.

Just use an Alvey Surf Bag, has only only a couple of big pockets, but capable of carrying pliers knife and a couple of small tackle boxes .... when rigging bag lays in their lap, with everything at hand, then after rigging bag is slung behind back so out of the way and easy to paddle. https://www.ebay.com.au/i/192218049016?chn=ps&fl=c

Cyclists also use similar light calico bags that could be used same way, and thinking about would be easy to alter a green shopping bag using a single strap instead of straps either side.

I got one of these. Piece of mind. No pull cord, no annual checking, several pockets, keeps you warmer on cold days.

Bought a fishing vest/pfd with pockets from korea but not have australian standard approval. Is it illegal to use? Have tried it out and it does keep me afloat.
