Tarpon 100

#1 Post by stew70 » Thu Aug 10, 2017 8:59 am

What are people's thoughts on a tarpon 100 as a little skinny water bass and cod kayak. A mate at work is looking to get one, I've told him to have a look at a quest 11 also. Any thoughts.

The tarpon 100 is the original tough yak for small water kayaking. Thick all over and loves being dragged all over the show to get to that honey hole.

Search through some old topics and you will find it.

I have had both and now in a Quest 11 again. Tarpon is ok, it can be a wet ride as their is no way for it to drain. all the pockets fill up with water, they may have fixed this I dunno. But the quest is a great yak, in turbulent water its amazing, holding on course with ease, not easily being swept in the current. The tarpon was the bees knees once but I have moved on.

The wet pockets was with the 2010 model.....yep they went backwards. Still prefer the original. Sold as a perception these days.

But yes, the quest is a much better craft.
