Hobie rudder cable kit - Repair

#1 Post by canaryfisher » Thu Jan 18, 2018 7:43 pm

wow.. So my rudder up cable snapped before xmas and I thought I could buy some 2mm spectra 100m of it for $49\
or just get the hobie kit.. In the end last weekend I went to sunstate hobie to get the kit and 2 new handles as I was thinking
of selling my sweet hobie revo 13 but in the end I'm keeping it.. I love it way to much hahah

But wow I spoke to 2 hobie owners and they said it wasn't to hard.............. Well to me it was pretty hard.

It was good to replace all the cables though I didn't replace the left and right cable I just did a extension with the new rope cause
it was way to hard to get under the middle hatch to the tie off points. It all looks really nice now. What I didn't like is the instructions it came
with was very basic with no pictures and I couldn't find any videos except one on how to do it but it was only for 1 line not all of them.

The only guide I found which I wish they include this or even tell you to go to it instead of me looking it up my self.

https://static.hobiecat.com/digital_axx ... Manual.pdf

If your stuck at doing this whole new setup check that guide out from hobiecat its got detailed instructions with detailed pictures.

It all works now and all aligned up better then what it was before

It gets easier with every attempt! LOL

Roberta

It’s even harder doing a Sport as it doesn’t have a rear hatch! Got it down pat now!
