Raymarine Dragonfly Pro.

I've got the 4DVS which is the same unit minus a few features (wifi connectivity, chart plotter), and it's an amazing piece of kit - far better than any Lowrance unit I've previously owned. I have a mate who has the PRO and he raves about how good it is, he's connected it up to his iPad via the app and now runs a dual screen.

As both of us decided to make our sounders interchangeable between kayaks, he designed some new mounts on his computer and printed out with his 3D printer which allows us to interchange our sounder between our kayaks/boats without having to by another wiring loom.

Only brand of sounder to dual rate their sounders for water ingress, they are IP66/67 so they have ingress protection for water jets and submersion, most other brands are IP67 which is protection from ingress due to submersion.

I am looking at getting a Dragonfly 4 Pro. Just wondering if the C-Map card that comes with them is any good or is the navionics gold worth the extra.
Thanks

Hey Wfish, I've got the 4 Pro with c-Maps and have found the mapping to be fine. I don't use it (yet) for finding spots to fish based on contours etc but for marking fish/bait and also for navigating at night in my boat and for those purposes it does the job fine.

Wfish - I've seen the Dragonfly advertised with no maps, C-Maps and Navionics all with different prices so double check what you are getting before you buy. When I bought mine it came with free C-Maps but I'm not sure these days.
