Raymarine Dragonfly 5 Pro- Has anyone got one?

Postby minnieyakfisher » Tue Sep 19, 2017 11:54 pm

Hi there,
Has anyone used or own a Raymarine Dragonfly 5 Pro? I have been doing a bit of reading and can't decide on a Lowrance Hook 5 combo, the Raymarine or a Humminbird. The transducer on the Dragonfly will have to be installed through hull but the others should fit into the scupper in the Prowler.
What does everyone think?
Cheers
Clyde

Hi,
I have used the Pro 5 for the last few months and have found it to be a great little unit. Gives a nice image of any structure on the bottom and I always make use of the navionics.

Love my Dragonfly Pro 5. Went with it after having some warranty issues with a Lowrance (water ingress).

I liked the navigation better on the Lowrance, probably because I was used to it, but as a sounder the Dragonfly is a better unit.

Have no experience with Hummingbird sorry, but I hear good things about Garmin..

My 2c.

Cheers,
PF

Awesome! Thanks for that. I think that I'll take the plunge and get one.

The dragonflys are awesome pal, the detail of structure is second to none for that price range.

Use my Dragonfly 4 Pro on both my offshore kayak and boat (2 trannies & swap the head unit around). Great detail and love the wifi option on the boat (stream the image to my iPad when I'm up front on the cast deck).

I’ve got the 7pro and it’s awesome. Had the 6 before that
I picked up the 7 pro no gold card tho for $635 delivered from Arnold’s boating.
The built in light house maps is pretty good.
