Grady's or Coolendel for first timer lower Shoalhaven

#1 Post by Aussie54 » Mon Apr 10, 2017 10:03 pm

Hi south coast people,
Went to Tallowa Dam Fri/Sat just gone. Could only find small bass. Planning my next full moon camp & fish, just wondering if you had a choice in May full moon, would you choose Coolendel or Grady's and why?.
I'm a catch and release fisho not kill and grill, I enjoy the scerenity and scenery that fishing in these locations offer. Any suggestions welcome.
Wayne A.

Hey Fletch,
Thanks for the reply. I had browsed this area by search a while ago. I'll search again. Might come across something new but any other suggestions from others would be great, such as I'm in a Slayer Propel 13 and can I traverse the rapids at Coolendel going upstream or can I drag the heavy contraption around the rapids easily, remembering these weigh around 40 odd kgs. Thanks again Fletch.
Regards, Wayne A.

Went to Grady's around 2 or 3 full moons ago. Think it was Mid June. Was okay, spent more time exploring than fishing, mozied around area Sat lunchtime, went upstream Sat arvo, only had to drag my kayak across 1 small rapid, the same one I got stuck on come back, too shallow, rest was okay but ran out of daylight. Sunday went 4.5k downstream. Only caught a few small bass on Sat. Catch, photo, chuck back. Nothing Sunday. Great escape. Will go back there again before giving Coolendel a crack when it warms up lots more later in the year.
Regards, Wayne A.
