Rapala Contessa Reel.

Postby Chemacky » Mon Jan 09, 2017 1:21 pm

Rapala Contessa reel looks to be a nice piece of kit for the price (plus it would look really nice with my Gen Black rod), but I can't find any reviews anywhere on the internet. Has anyone used one... or touched one in store? Or another rapala reel of similar price/specs? How did you find it?

Cheers

Yep, I bought the 2000 Contessa 12mths ago at Tamar Marine in Launceston. Very happy with it. Best of all - no corrosion on its lovely black body - important for someone like me who is very slack about washing things down after use

Thanks. I think I'll pick one up as soon as I get some income!

I assume the drag and winding and everything is very smooth? You use it for mostly Bream fishing I would guess? How does it handle big bluenose?

Yep, everything smooth and hasn't suffered at all from a couple of minor dunkings that would have seized my Sienna. Had no trouble fighting a 40cm Bream with it
