Butts too long

#1 Post by pazz » Sun Mar 26, 2017 9:11 pm

I have an overhead Ugly Stick that is too long in the butt as well as having an end cap that does not fit very well in my rod holder setup.
I am considering cutting the end off the rod and putting a flush cap.
Is it as easy as taking a hacksaw too it?
Any guidance much appreciated.
Cheers Pazz

I cut the butt off one of mine. I then sanded down the cork and put a rubber cap over it.

Worked well,

yes done about 3 rods of my own, but suggest you do a light surface cut all around the glass initially, before cutting all the way thru, reckon it saves risk of splintering.
