Hey All,
Just a shout out to see if any of you guys fish the rivers around the Maitland area for bass and if so if you had any hints and tips.
Not looking for secret spot just a general idea of what i should be looking for and what i should be throwing.
Cheers.

Hi Burnsie,
I usually fish Clarence town, tocal or lostock for bass.
When I fish the rivers I like to go early in the morning and use surface lures. I have had success with black Kokoda bats and small poppers. I probably prefer the poppers as you can skip cast them under trees and right up to the bank.
Lostock has been fishing good lately and the fish have been deep in the cooler water. If you have a good sounder an your yak look for the thermocline (this is the point where the cool and warm water meet) and that will give you an idea of how deep you should fish. Between the bottom and the thermocline is the best area to fish during the day with vibes, soft plastics or trolling XDD poltergeist hard bodies. Don't forget to try the weed edges early morning and late afternoon.
Few fish from lostock a few weeks ago.
