Hello everyone,
Just spoken to Big 4 Tuncurry re discounts on accommodation, For all people who are requiring a powered site or cabin The Big 4 Holiday Park Tuncurry has offered a discount off their normal prices for anyone booking & mentioning that they are part of the Midcoast Kayak Fishing Club, the discount will be equal to the Big 4 member discount.
Check out their web site for all the different types of sites & cabins available.
If you are attending I would suggest that you book ASAP as around this time of year & seeing that the Pertek Fishing Challenge is also on, this park will be in high demand so get to it gang. :?:
When we get closer to the date I will be asking for numbers of attendees as we will be organizing a BBQ on the Saturday night.
If you require any more info PM me.
Regards,
Knees.
P.S.
All are welcome to attend, you do not have to be a Midcoast member.

All those who are going please post on here if you have not already done so as we would like to have a get together/BBQ on the Saturday night so I do need to have a good idea of how many will be attending. the club will provide snags/steak/salad, bring your own drinks.
Also a reminder that the weekend is also the Pertek Fishing Challenge weekend, I received my cap & brag mat today, it's for a good cause & as most of you know one that is close to my heart so join in & enter even if you do not put an entry in you could still win something.

Hi Peoples,

Cabin booked for my wife and I from the Thursday afternoon, to the Monday morning.
Looking forward to a bit of time off work, with some good fishing and good company.

Had to ring the Park to check whether I could bring my trailer, they did a bit of shuffling for me to fit me in, and was told they are filling up fast.
Get in quick Midcoasters if you haven't already booked.

Cheers,
PF

Hi
Leave confirmed and ready to go for a planned Thursday to Sunday .
Was planning on just tenting it however looking at Big4 website they don't seem to cater for single person small tent sites, seem more geared to large multi person setups or vans/cabins. Will give them a call to see what can arrange however anybody familiar with this park got any suggestions for alternatives. Or anybody looking for a share.
Any info appreciated.
Thanks

Looking forward to catching up with everyone this weekend! Michelle & I will probably have a fish over at the keys today, depending on the tide ..... or the Paddock, then fish Tuncurry with you tomorrow & Sun.

We'll probably put in down the end of Taree St to save me the big pedal up from the camp area ..... so should see you on the water!! I'll bring my fly rod as well!

What great weather we had @ Forster over the weekend  Shame the fish didn't cooperate though with mediocre numbers being landed & most of those on the small side.
Started out on Friday with a bit of promise landing a few Bream among the racks but only 1 of legal size, from there on things became a little slow for me only landing a few small Flathead & Snapper on Saturday & Sunday. Had a few hookups on surface lures on the sand flats but failed to land anything.
The group had a great dinner on Saturday night @ cabin 28 enjoying some nice prawns & a great T bone & salad.
Now for the bad part!!!!!!
Some low life stole Terry's kayak from the roof of his car on Sunday night :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr:
There was some push bikes also stolen from a caravan near Bob's site also. I would strongly advise anyone going to The Big 4 Tuncurry to make sure that your gear is made very secure as this is not the first time something like this has happened there!!!
We had our 3 yaks protected with alarm locks every night while we were there except the last when Terry decided to tie his yak onto his Patrol roof racks on the last night ready for a reasonably early departure on Monday morning, you would have thought it would be safe up there?????
I have asked him to post up some photos EVERYWHERE so hopefully he may recover it.
Thanks to all who attended for your great support & company, looking forward to our next major outing which will probably be @ Lake St Clair again in October. Those who attended that one will remember how great it was.
Regards,
Knees.
P.S.
Everyone has heard of The Lion King, We now have "THE PELICAN KING" in our ranks. sirmoken gave us a demonstration of how to tame Pelicans, I am sworn to secrecy so you will have to ask him personally of how he tames pelicans but it has something to do with feeding them nice legal size Bream!!!!!!!
