Midcoast Social Outing - Lake St Clair - Oct 26-28th 2018

#1 Post by pdfarrell » Thu Aug 02, 2018 8:57 pm

Hi Midcoasters,

One of our prime fixtures is fast approaching! Our freshwater weekend at Lake St Clair.

This year we have scheduled it for Friday 26th - Sunday 28th October.

Those that have attended the St Clair weekend in previous years will no doubt be keen to attend this weekend, but for those that haven't, I implore you to make the effort to come along.
The Midcoast Club welcomes all newcomers and non club members to attend, it's a bloody great weekend, and if we catch half as many fish as we did in 2017, we will all be happy campers.

We had a few little give away's in a comp last year, and will see what we can do this year..

Reply if you can make it, and or confirm your attendance on our Facebook page.

No need to book a spot, you will have to book in @ the office on the way in then we will be camped,[ hopefully] about 100m in from the entrance on the RHS, I will be there from around mid day on the Thursday. Just to advise, all the area we will be in is unpowered.

It's getting close everyone, looks like we will have a great group this year & by all reports the fishing should be outstanding. I have been getting some great reports that the Bass are on the chew so lets see if we can top the tally from last year.
Please post on here if you are attending if you have not already.

Darn! I am Not 100% sure I can make it at all yet - I will make the call closer to the time .....

I am tied up with a Uke Gig on the Sat evening & was hoping to duck over for maybe Thurs/Fri (prob leaving Fri afternoon - tho a long way to go for one night!) .... if the weather is anything like here today - it will be a no!!

Rob Searing/Masterangler is putting up a $75 voucher for the weekend .... I will get a copy of it to Paul - biggest fish perhaps, as a terrific sponsor of our Forum?

cheers

Roberta

Next time, I'll make sure I have no conflicting dates! :beye:

Ok Midcoasters,

Just a bit of info..

We will be camping in the usual spot on the right as you drive in at the end of the bay.

Camping is unpowered and will cost $23.50 per night. There are toilets and showers a short walk from where we camp.

There will be a competition run with a few prizes and will be ran on the Saturday.. to enter you will need to submit photos on a brag mat/board.

There will be two sections, one for Bass and one for Yellas. Photos of your two biggest fish from each species to be submitted. Only one fish is required to win a prize, with the second fish only used in the event of a tie. Prizes not necessarily for the biggest fish.

There will be a briefing around 3pm Friday explaining all. Those that can't fish the Saturday I will except entries from the Friday.

Anyhow, numbers are looking excellent and I expect we'll be giving 20 attendees a nudge!

I will be there just on Sunrise Friday. Looking forward to another great weekend.

Cheers,
PF
