Built this today from idea's I got from this forum (credit to the original designer)

Parts cost under $50 and a few hours.

I'm gonna experiment with the elbow joint, and may consider restricting the water flow on the head. Got a weird look from the missus while floating this in the bath :baf:

Feedback welcome.

GDay IMick.

Nicely done. I have one similar but I haven't really used it.
I hope Mrs Imick wasn't in the bath at the time of testing.

To stream line mine I cut up a 1.25 litre coke bottle (from memory) and it was a perfect fit on the end.

Very nice, now all you have to do is work a way of getting that lounge onto the yak! :bye:

That's a great idea, I've changed mine to a right angle head and it seems to cut the water nicely.

Mick,

Looks great. Better than craning the neck to chase the livie around a bucket behind you. :beat:

Is that 90mm PVC?? What size livies are you planning to fit in there?? Some serious stuff. :cool2:

Do you see the connection to the hatch causing problems on the water? Is it fixed to the main tube inside? Might be an idea to fix to the end cap? Only going on what I am perceiving in the photo's, it looks like it will do the job wonderfully.

Might make up one myself, watch this space, thank for the idea. :bye:

Thanks mate. The hatched is a cut out from the pipe connected by two stainless hinges and secured using bungee. The hatch is rock solid, no issue on the water. The two factors to get on top of are drag (too much and it's a pain to drag around) and water flow (too much can kill squid)

Not sure if its 90mm, it looks it. I wanted a big one because I want to carry 10-20 yakka for when the Kings are on, or even Big Mullet, Pike, Salmon, Slimeys, Sqiud or legal Blackfish and Tailor for big Jewie baits.

Great to hear!! :smi:

I've only seen the 40mm versions where the livies are stacked on top of each other.

Bigger the better I guess. :snic:

How do the squid behave for you? I'd imagine they could create quite a mess, but well worth the effort. They would come close to being the best fresh bait available.

I"m yet to put a squid in it, but I reckon I'm gonna get inked.

I think big is good, but as long as it can be dragged around with minimal fuss.

Looking forward to filling it.
