Idea's for Launch Locations

#1 Post by saltydude » Sat Jul 24, 2010 7:36 pm

Okay everybody if you have any idea's about where we can go for our next event please reply, one point to remember is the location must be suitable for at least 20 or more yakkers on the water as well as parking. Also it would be preferable for the location to be suitable for us to set up the BBQ for lunch afterwards.
I'm thinking at the moment of allowing 1 week for suggestions then posting the idea's for a 1 week members vote to decide the next outings location.
Thanks everyone :bye:

Berowra Waters is a nice launch spot. Doesn't have BBQ facilities (to my knowledge) but a spot called Crosslands Reserve upstream does.

I love the suggestion I heard from one our fellow members(sorry forgot name) to hire a BBQ boat for the day and head up the Hawksbury towing the yaks then we have a BBQ and toilet on the BBQ boat.

Ide like to suggest Long Reef :bb: but yes I know its not a practical idea :snic: (just never fished it & would really like some company to try it out) .
So ill withdraw that idea & say im happy to go with the flow but any weekend anyone is heading out to longy a PM would be much appreciated.

I will put my two bobs worth in and suggest - Rose Bay - launch at Woollarha Sailing Club, parking is "free" and there are about 70-12 hour and 30-4 hour car parking spots. Trailers can use the normal boat ramp. Not sure about council and BBQ, but will check if SKFC is interested.

Chipping Norton Lake (Georges River)

There is plenty of parking and facilities. Launching can be at the ramp or the sandy beach.

ok i was gunna save this for summer there are two bbq boats that take 12 adults each plus theres a couple of smaller ones cost would be about 35 -50 ahead for the whole day personally i would like to save this for a summer outing when the breambo's are at the best smashing the surface but some feed back on this idea would be good as to howmany would be interested

Lee
I'm interested but am wondering how many beers will be consumed before we even make it to where we're supposed to fish?
And is there room to take 12 yaks on the boat to use as a mothership?

As for trip suggestions, i'm not sure how people feel about fishing the harbour. Manns Point boatramp is a good spot to launch, easy access under the bridge or down to Darling Harbour. Right near the mouth of the Lane Cove and close to a few of the Islands that provide good fishing.
I was going to suggest a bassing meeting but there's just too many people. Maybe once the club has been established a bit longer we can organise a day. Here's a thought, why don't we combine our october meeting with the Bass Sydney basscatch? :ll:
