Bass open season tomorrow

#1 Post by pavo » Thu Aug 31, 2017 9:38 pm

With the opening of bass season on the 1st and I have a leave ticket this Saturday I was going to head up the to the junction for a walk in and an exploration fish for the day.
I will be looking at arriving at the camp car park at sunrise and returning around lunchtime if anyone is keen to join me.
It's 4x4 only in and out.

Good luck up there mate, it's is a great bit of country.
I am going to plan a weekend trip to the gorge in the next month or so.
Will see if we can get a few interested in coming along.
Cheers
Steve

The Nymboida river is closed to all fishing at present I have also heard that fisheries have been doing random patrols out there as well

Oh yes cheers for that I though it opened with the bass season. Looks like I'll be going somewhere else then.

Yes closed August, Sept, October BUT Not the whole river, just specific parts. Here is an exert and the link to DPI notice.

Exert
The closed waters include the Mann river and all of its tributaries upstream of its junction with the Clarence river; and the Nymboida river and all of its tributaries from its
junction with the Mann River upstream to Platypus Flat. The closure does not apply to notified trout waters, which are regulated separately.
Fisheries Officers from Inverell, Maclean and Coffs Harbour will be joining forces to conduct regular patrols of the closure area to detect and deter any illegal activity.
“It is prohibited to engage in any form of fishing activity or to possess any fishing gear in, on or adjacent to waterways that exist within the closure area,” Mr Wright said.

Gee, it seems to have to be proactive in finding the sign. Hope they have more than just one.

Regards, Wayne A.
