Can anyone recommended a good burley mix to put in over at maggie?

One of the regulars here uses a tin of cat food as his burley and ... truth be told ... he catches a lot more fish than me.

I have done burley before, and used just old frozen and fresh baits. Blended them up and put them into a milk bottle, freeze it, then puncture the bottle and drop it to the bottom with a weight and a float on the rope at the top. Caught a big beautiful tusk fish that way. Anchored well away from the berley and cast towards it.

If you're in a kayak ... under no circumstances have that burley tethered to your kayak.

There are some BIG Tiger Sharks and very confident hammerheads around the place. Best not to have a line attached to your yak if there's a chance a bit of chompy chompy action on the burley and it gets dragged away.

I've never had a bad experience, but I don't put myself in that position in the first place.
