Middle reef early Saturday morning

#1 Post by dave dudley » Tue Nov 03, 2015 11:52 pm

Any takers for a crack at middle reef Western marker pole or the shipping channel as an alternative for Saturday morning at Sunrise. Need early notice so I can effect yak repairs.

You never never know if you never never go.

I too am a "maybe" at this point.

Serious shoulder problems at the moment, and a massive amount of cementing to be done on Friday morning. Completely depends on how my shoulder pulls up.

Fingers crossed!!!

I took a day off today and done a short round trip off Palleranda. Lucky that I didn't know this or I won't be going alone. One cod for dinner. Wish you guys good luck tomorrow and don't worry about the croc as it didn't take me.
cheers

Hmmm - this be the time of year where we do expect them to be out and about, moving between creeks.

Sure is... I think with Wally hanging around so much during the cooler months it threw out my 'croc clock' lol

I'm going over to Picnic bay on Sunday with a group... probably makes sense to paddle at least in pairs for safety

We had a great morning out before work the almanac was a fizzer though. Anyway got out to the reef and between us both we got 4 GT, 2 Grunter, 1 Slatey Brim, 1 Hammer head, 1 Puffer, a couple of reef fish so a good morning we lost a few right at the yak. Oh we also got a couple of sea birds that targeted the ganged pilchard, they must have been hungry as the took off with them hooks and all.

Yep I agree definitely pairs is the way to go and a weapon of some type at least it can't do two at a time a good chance of the other giving it a whack I carry a 5 ft stick with a very nasty blade in the end sharpened and won't bend.

Nice. Those little gold spot are top eating. Try gently poaching one in a laksa soup - doesn't get much better

Never knew that Laksa soup can be used for something other than Singapore noodles. Thank you for the tip.
