hi guys

first post on here but always on here having a look :)
I'm in st georges basin for a few weeks on our way around oz and was wondering if there is many people who get out there on the yaks? I wouldn't mind catching up with someone for a fish or just some tips. I have a hobie pa and have been out yesterday but only got a few flathead and tailor, then went out today late in the arvo and sounded a lot of bait and tailor but couldn't get through the tailor.
look forward to hear back.
thanks :)

If you look at the DPI web site you can find the GPS marks for the artificial reefs
Launching from Palm is a good spot to get to them
It a place requires a lot of sussing out to find the fish
Hope that helps good luck

thanks kaos. yeah I'm planning on giving that a try soon. at the moment I'm house sitting at basin view and just have the yak on the lawn at the front of the house so I don't have to get it on and off the ute (my ute has a canopy so bit of an effort to get on and off) but next week I will chuck it on the ute and go for a look.. I have been getting a few flathead but really hard to find.
thanks

Hi Kieran

Welcome to KFDU! You'll settle in here nicely, I can tell! :gu:

There have been numerous yak fishing comps at St George's Basin ..... so if you google "St George's River Kayak Fishing'' there should be a HEAP of yak fishing info there. ..... reading the 'grand final' reports by the winners is often the way to go!

Just be aware of the nasty conditions that can flair up down there - if in doubt, don't go out!!

Good luck - looking forward to your reports, already! :lek:

cheers
