Lake Eucumbene Access

#1 Post by 2yackers » Sat Jan 18, 2014 2:40 pm

G'day Far South Coasters
Can anybody be of assistance?
I will be based in Cooma for the weekend of 14/15 Next month.
I am bringing my yak down with me and I want to get reasonable easy access to the lake or local waterways suitable for a Hobie Mirage Adventure for a fish and explore.
When I was there 12 months ago I checked the joint out but couldn't find anywhere suitable.
The spots I did find we're either shallow mud or too steep and rocky.
Any assistance would be much appreciated.
I don't mind a bit of a drive. It's all part of the adventure.
Regards
Bob

Watch out for mud patches around the edges, Bob - it can be really sludgy & difficult to pull your feet out if you get stuck - even worse if your car gets into it!! Not sure if there will be much there just now with the low rain fall ..... but just be wary!

Good luck

Yes definatly watchout for the mud. The lakes been dropping quite quickly so it could be pretty soft around the edges.
What sort of fishing are u doing?

Probably casting to structure and down rigging,
Have not given it a lot of thought to date.
Any ideas?

Launched at Buckenderra on Sunday and the lake was dropping quite quickly. Mud Mud Mud ...beware

Not a fish taken. Trolled in yak and mates In boats and on hobies. Fish showing at 8 to 10 metres but would not take a lure. Storm sat night nearly blew us away.
