Hi Pat,
No good for me.
Trolled & micro jigged for one undersize snapper.
Did pull up this guy but was unsure of what it was so back he went. Was a good 2 kg fish.
Thinking it may have been a Chinamans Rock Cod - he was a bit redder than the pic shows, but did not have distinct banding.

Any ideas ??

I got out late off diggers .
Had a good day . I did go wide :gu:
Caught 3 kingfish , 4 sharks ( 3 species ) , and got stuck into slimeys for the upcoming pelagic season .

Very sharkey day , spotted at least 20 on the surface working their way through the bait balls throughout the day .
Love watching the hammerheads , always seem pissed of and looking for their next fix in a bad neighbourhood :idiot:

Maori cod is your fish ( I believe )

Hi Paul,
Yep - did a bit more googling and pretty sure your right - Maori Rockcod.
Bait everywhere off Arrawarra - surface was bubbling all morning with little bust-ups almost constantly.
Cheers
Steve

Caught on the troll , all where keepers . Caught very wide . Nearly pulled me into the wash and one nearly bloody tipped me by hitting a floating lure next to the yak with the drag still on the fight mode for the fish I had on my lap and was trying to measure . :gu:

I called in to the Woopie seafood store near the Seaview Tavern to collect some decent pillies and the owner said that the back packers cleaned him out of pillies, mullet etc etc - I say its a disgrace  but seriously I ve never heard this one before - however at the moment the results just using the my ZMann Nuc chicken is working good enough. Using plastic can be a slow way of fishing but you just gotta keep the faith
